l = 6 + w
area = 352
l*w = 352
(6 + w)*w = 352
6w+%2B+w%5E2+=+352
w%5E2+%2B+6w+-+352+=+0
(w + 22)*(w - 16)= 0
w + 22 = 0
w = - 22
or
w - 16 = 0
w = 16

because the dimension can't be a negative number, then:
w = 16
l = 6 + 16 = 22
so the room is 16 ft wide and 22 ft long
