Suppose that x represents one of two positive numbers whose sum is 30. Determine a function f(x) that represents the product of these two numbers
We have X and (30-X)( Think of x+y =30 so y = 30-x) so when we multiply these two together we have
X^2 - 30x
I hope that this helps

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If x is one of two numbers whose sum is 30, then the other number is 30-x, since x + (30-x) = 30
The product of x and (30-x) is:
x%2830-x%29+=+30x+-+x%5E2
A function of x representing this can be written:
f%28x%29+=+30x-x%5E2
