i know from my reading that the composite = f(g(x))
so does that mean i just go to the list and find what g(6)= which is 4.
to find my answer. is it that simple.

values for (g) [x=4 g(x)=6 ] for [x=5 g(x)=7] [for x=6 g(x)=4] [x=7 g(x)=5]

f (g(6))= f(4)=7
Work these from right to left.
1st find g(6) which as you said is 4
Then find f(4) which you see is 7.
