You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-+intercept of -8+
and slope of m=-+9%2F8
(x, y) =(-8,0)

so
y+=+mx+%2B+b
0+=+-+%289%2F8%29%28-8%29+%2B+b...find b
0+=+9+%2B+b
-9+=+b
y+=-%289%2F8%29x+-9
in standard form

%289%2F8%29x+%2B+y+=+-9

y=mx+b
Do you really mean x intercept?
b is the y intercept when x=0
the x intercept would be when y=0
0=(-8)*(-9/8)+b
-9=b
y=-9x/8-9
if you meant y intercept
then it is
y=-9x/8-8
