You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x - y = 1 ---------> -y = -3x + 1 ------> y = 3x - 1 {solved top equation for y}
2x - 3y = 10

2x - 3y = 10 {bottom equation}
2x - 3(3x - 1) = 10 {substituted 3x - 1, in for y, into bottom equation}
2x - 9x + 3 = 10 {used distributive property}
-7x + 3 = 10 {combined like terms}
-7x = 7 {subtracted 3 from both sides}
x = -1 {divided both sides by -7}

y = 3x - 1 {the top equation, solved for y}
y = 3(-1) - 1 {substituted -1, in for x, into y = 3x - 1}
y = -3 - 1 {multiplied 3 by -1}
y = -4 {subtracted}

x = -1 and y = -4
