: Hello!
Would anyone please help with the following word-problem that requires the proper linear equation setup:
"A nurse has two solutions that contain different concentrations of a certain medication. One is a 10% concentration and the other is 5% concentration. How many cubic centimeters of each should she mix to obtain 20 cubic centimeters of an 8% solution?"
THANK YOU.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(0.10(x) + 0.05(20 - x))/20 = .08
x = 12
20 - x = 8
12 cubic centimeters of 10%
8 cubic centimeters of 5%
