Question 454983: A jar contains 60 marbles, some of which are purple and the rest of which are yellow. Some of the marbles are glittery, and the rest are plain. If a marble is selected at random from the jar, the probability that it is purple if 4/15, that it is glittery is 2/3, and that it is either purple or glittery is 49/60. How many are yellow and glittery?
Thank you for helping me! I saw that someone "answered" this question, but there wasn't anything there. Please help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If there are 60 total and 4/15 are purple then 4/15*60 =16 are purple. 60-16=44 are yellow
p=16
y=44
2/3*60=40 glittery
49 are purple or glittery
40+16=56 are purple and/or glittery
but only 49 are purple or glittery
so 56-49=7 are purple and glittery
so the other glittery must be yellow
40-7=33 are yellow and glittery
