Question 454758: Hello,
I need hep with the following problem:
Find the equation of the line that is perpendicular to y+3x=1, and has an x-intercept of 2. What is the distance between the point of intersection of the two lines and the origin?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The line y+3x=1
has a slope of -3
y=-3x+1
The line perpendicular will have a slope of 1/3
Are you sure you want an x intercept of 2 and not the y intercept of 2
y intercept of 2 is when x=0 y=2
x intercept of 2 is when y=0 x=2
0=2/3+b
b=-2/3
y=x/3-2/3
with x intercept of 2
y=x/3+2
with y intercept of 2
