Question 453046: I've tried working this problem on my own, then checking my answer with both a solver and a scientific calculator and the 2 answers are sooo far apart something's got to be very wrong. The problem is
Evaluate the function at the given values of x if possible. (a)x=4 (b)x=-5
f(x)=6x^2-1/x^2
I get F(4)=47/16 and f(5)=-31/-25 and I get f(4)=1535/16 and f(-5)=3749/25 from the solvers.
Can someone tell me which is right or if its another answer entirely? I have a couple more problems like this coming up. This is an important test and it's no time for guessing. Thanks. Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The problem is
Evaluate the function at the given values of x if possible. (a)x=4 (b)x=-5
:
I am not sure of any of your solutions:
:
Assuming this is the problem and x=4
f(x)= = = = =
:
x=-5
f(x)= = = =
:
When you entered this problem into the solver, did you put 6x^2-1 in brackets ()?
