When you multiply both sides of the equation by x, you get rid of the denominator
x(x+3) = -2
x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0
Factors to
(x+2)(x+1) = 0
Two solutions
x = -2
x = -1

-2 + 3 = %28-2%29%2F%28-2%29
1 = 1
