Question 452251: I'm 39, back in college and taking Algebra. My least favorite subject. I'm at a 3.96 GPA and I can't figure out this stuff!
I can't figure out how exactly to graph out a equation. I have to calculate the slope, x-intercept and y-intercept and label them.
y=x+3

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You measure y on the vertical axis
and x on the horizontal axis.
A straight line, as long as it has a slope other than
0 or infinity, will reach infinitely far on both
the (+) and (-) x-axis and the (+) and (-) y-axis.
That means any number you plug in for y, you
will get an x, and any number you plug in for
x, you will get a y.
When the equation has the form +y+=+mx+%2B+b+,
m = slope and b is the y-intercept
The x-intercept is found by setting +y+=+0+
+0+=+x+%2B+3+
+x+=+-3+ x-intercept
The slope is +m+=+1+
Here's the plot:
