You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5%282x+%2B+1%29%2F3+=+4x+%2B+7
Multiply both sides by 3. Since the entire left side is divided by 3, it cancels out.
5%282x+%2B+1%29+=+3%284x+%2B+7%29
Distribute the 5 into the 2x and 1 and the 3 into the 4x and 7.
10x+%2B+5+=+12x+%2B+21
Subtract 12x from both sides.
-2x+%2B+5+=+21
Subtract 5 from both sides.
-2x+=+16
Divide both sides by -2.
x+=+-8
Therefore, x is -8.
