red hose does 1/12 job in 1 hr and green hose does 1/8 job in 1 hr.
1/12 + 1/8 = 1/t
2/24 + 3/24 = 5/24
t=24/5 hrs = 4 4/5
8 + 4 4/5 = 12:48 PM
