You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2w+2(w+5)=30
4w+10=30
4w=20
w=5yds.
l=10yds..

Hi,

The length of a rectangle is 5yds longer than its width.
Let x and (x+5) represent the width and length respectively
2x + 2(x+5yd) = 30yds
4x = 20yds
x = 5yd, the width the length is 10yd
Area(rectangle) = w*l = 5yd*10yd = 50yd^2
