Question 451050: I have been having problems trying to figure out how to solve some of these problems. Here it is... Solve by factoring the principle of zero products: 3x^2+8x=9+2x this one confused me because of the equal sign I think.
Please help... And Thank- you in advance
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3x^2+8x=9+2x
3x^2+6x-9=0
factors of -27 (3*-9) which add up to 6
9 and -3
3x^2-3x+9x-9
3x*(x-1)+9*(x-1)=0
(3x+9)*(x-1)
which is the same as
3*(x+3)*(x-1)
or
3x^2+9x-3x-9
3x(x+3)-3(x+3)
(3x-3)*(x+3)
which is the same as
3*(x-1)*(x+3)
