What is an "explanantion" ?
Do you mean "explanation"?
We know the time has to be less than 36. Why?
x/48+x/36=1
I could multiply by everything by 1728 which is 48*36
and get
36x+48x=1728
but there is an easier way.
We factor 36 and 48
since both are multiples of 12
x/(4*12)+x/(3*12)=1
multiply by 12
x/4+x/3=12
multiply by 12 again
3x+4x=144
7x=144
x=144/7
x=20.57 hrs
