Hi,
Let x represent the number oF student tickets sold, (350-x) the # of adult tickets
Question states***
3x + 5(350-x) = 1450
-2x = -300
x = 150, the number oF student tickets sold
CHECKING our Answer*** Note 200a adult tickets sold (350-150)
$3*150 + $5*200 = $450 + $1000 = $1450
