You can put this solution on YOUR website!
from the second equation x-y=2 is the same as x=2+y, now we take this value for x and plug it into the first equation
2(2+y)+3y=8
4+2y+3y=8
4+5y=8
5y=4
y=4/5, then we already know x = 2+y, therefore x=2+4/5 = 14/5
and we can check that x=14/5 and y=4/5 is a solution for both equations, which it is, so those are the solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

2x%2B3y=8.....1
x-y=2.........2
--------------------
x-y=2.........2...solve for x
x=y%2B2.....plug in 1
2%28y%2B2%29%2B3y=8.....1
2y%2B4%2B3y=8
5y%2B4=8
5y=8-4
5y=4
y=4%2F5
y=0.8........plug in x=y%2B2.
x=0.8%2B2
x=2.8

check:

x-y=2.........2
2.8-0.8=2
2=2
