would solve it:
How many times Lisa's age is Marcus now?
+49%2F15+=+3.27+
Let x = number of years I want to add to both ages
so that +49+%2B+x+=+3%2A%28+15+%2B+x+%29+
+49+%2B+x+=+45+%2B+3x+
+2x+=+49+-+45+
+2x+=+4+
+x+=+2+
In 2 years, Marcus will be 3 times Lisa's age
check:
+49+%2B+2+=+51+
+15+%2B+2+=+17+
+51%2F17+=+3+
OK
For a table, you can list x, 49 + x, 15 + x, 3*(15 + x)
and x=1, x=2, x=3
