You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 8.5 litres are removed from a tank that is 3/7 full, then it will be 1/8 full. How many litres does the tank hold when it is full?
----
Let "x" be the capacity of the tank.
---
Equation:
(3/7)x-8.5 = (1/8)x
---
[(3/7)-(1/8)]x = 8.5
----
[(24-7)/56]x = 8.5
(14/56)x = 8.5
(1/4)x = 8.5
x = 4*8.5 = 34 liters
