It depends on the mood I'm in. I might say -4 + -5 is -9 and -(-9) is 9, so -9 + 9 is 0.
Or I might say -(-9) is 9 and then -4 + 9 is 5, then 5 - 5 is 0.
Or I might say -(-9) is 9 and then -5 + 9 is 4, then -4 + 4 is 0.
But no matter what sort of mood I'm in and however I do it, I always get 0 as an answer.
