Question 447974: My teacher gave me this problem. Write an equation and solve the problem. If necessary, round results to two decimal places.
Jenny is considering a job in retail. Her salary would be $300 plus 40% comission on weekly sales. She would like to know her possible growss pay if she projects weekly sales between &750 and $1200.......
I am thinking its $300+.40x= but Im probably wrong. PLEASE HELP ME!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The formula you gave for her gross pay is correct.
y = 300 + 0.4x
With x = weekly sales, y = gross pay
With this formula, her possible gross pay will vary from:
y = 300 + 0.4*750 = $600
y = 300 + 0.4*1200 = $780
As an inequality, this would be:
600+%3C=+y+%3C=+780
