Question 44794: Area of a parallelogram. Find a trinomial that represents the area of a parallelogram whose base is 3x + 2 meters and whose height is 2x + 3 meters. Answer by AnlytcPhil(1806) (Show Source):
Area of a parallelogram. Find a trinomial that
represents the area of a parallelogram whose
base is 3x + 2 meters and whose height is
2x + 3 meters.
Area = base × height
Area = (3x + 2)(2x + 3)
Use "FOIL":
Area = (3x)(2x) + (3x)(3) + (2)(2x) + (2)(3)
Area = 6x² + 9x + 4x + 6
Area = 6x² + 13x + 6
