Question 447133: During the 1998-1999 Little League season, the Tigers played 52 games. They won 12 more games than they lost. How many games did they win that season?
I figured if you divided 52 by 2 and you get 26 then add 12 then you get the answer of 38 but not sure how to put it into an equation . Or am I even close ?

(52-x) = no. of games lost

or
Games won = Games lost + 12 games
x = (52-x) + 12
Add x to both sides
x + x = 52 + 12

divide both sides by 2

x = 32 games won
