"how do you solve the problem (b+2)(-b^2+4b-3)"
Use the distributive property:
(b + 2)(-b² + 4b - 3)
= b(-b²) + b(4b) + b(-3) + 2(-b²) + 2(4b) + 2(-3) {used distributive property}
= -b³ + 4b² - 3b - 2b² + 8b - 6 {multiplied through}
= -b³ + 2b² + 5b - 6 {combined like terms}
