Question 446813: Hi! My question is on the midpoint formula which is labeled under circles and parabolas in my algebra 2 book, so I'm assuming I'm in the right category. The worksheet gives the points P(3,-5) and Q(6,1), and then says to find the point X such that P is the midpoint of line QX. The way its worded tells me I can't go about this the normal way I do with midpoint formula problems. I don't understand what numbers to plug in where. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X(x,y) P(3,-5), Q(6,1)
3=(6+x)/2
6=6+x
x=0
...
-5=(y+1)/2
-10= y+1
y=-11
..
(0,-11)
