x+y=5
2x-3y=10
we multiply eqn 1 by 2
2x+2y=10
2x-3y=10

subtract line 2 from line 1 thus eliminating x

-2x+6y=-10
---------- add both the lines
8y=0 so y=0 in this case ANS
