Question 446124: The 5 participants in a 200-meter dash had the following finishing times (in seconds): 29, 25,25,31,25
Assuming that these times constitute an entire population, find the standard deviation of the population. Round your answer to at least two decimal places.
I really need help with this kind of math. Could you show me how to work this problem?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The 5 participants in a 200-meter dash had the following finishing times (in seconds): 29, 25,25,31,25
Assuming that these times constitute an entire population, find the standard deviation of the population. Round your answer to at least two decimal places.
-------------------------------------
Find the mean of the data:
mean = 27
Find the distance of each data element from the mean.
Square those number and add the squares.
Divide that sum by (# of data values -1) = 4
The standard deviation is the square root of the last number you got.
------------------
std = 2.8284..
