The length of a rectangular yard shown in the figure is 50 less than 4 times the width. One side of the yard is bordered by the Potomac River. If the area of the yard is 16100 square feet, how many feet of the yard is alongside the river?

We think the quadratic equation would be 4x^2-50x-16100=0
Are we thinking about this wrong because it is driving us crazy...
