Solve this problem like you would any quadratic equation.
sin^2 x-sinx-12=0
try factoring
(sinx-4)(sinx+3)=0
sinx-4=0
sinx=4 (reject, (-1 < x < 1)
sinx+3=0
sinx=-3 (also, reject for the same reason)
ans: no solution
