Question 444015: just got signed up for school now that i got some time seeing as i wont be going out to sea anytime soon having trouble remebering graphing equations i have this math problem 4x-5y=20 i have to solve y and plot the point on the chart i think i have to minus 4 from both sides but then i get lost from there please let me know if you can give me some guidance on this it'd be greatly appreciated thank you,

solving for y puts the equation into slope-intercept form ___ y = mx + b (where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept)

adding 4x ___ -5y = -4x + 20

dividing by -5 ___ y = (4/5)x - 4

this means that the line crosses the y-axis at -4

the slope is 4/5 ___ so for every 4 units up on the y-axis, the line goes 5 units to the right on the x-axis
