Question 443850: I am having trouble finding roots. Here is where I am stuck on two problems:
1. Find all real roots: f(x) = x3 + 2x2 -13x + 10
2. Find all roots in the complex number system of: f(x) = x3 – 11x2 + 39x - 29
I understand when you can factor out after grouping but stuck here!

real roots should be factors of ___ the constant (last) term, divided by the coefficient of the cubed (first) term

both of these equations have 1 as a root, so x-1 is a factor

divide the equations by x-1 to get two quadratics, which can be factored or run through the quadratic formula
