Question 443748: What is the difference betwee intersecting lines and perpendicular lines? Can two lines exist that are not intersecting or parallel? Found 2 solutions by rwm, swincher4391:Answer by rwm(914) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Intersecting lines cross
Perpendicular lines cross at 90 degree angles
Yes they are the same line or one on top of the other.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Intersecting lines are just lines that touch. Perpendicular lines are lines that form right angles. Their slopes are opposite reciprocals of each other. In other words, let's say a line has slope 2, then the line perpendicular of it has slope (-1/2).

In the same plane, two lines are either intersecting or parallel. If we were talking about lines that were not coplanar (lines not in the same plane), then lines can be skew. So yes, they can, but not in the same plane.
