Question 44309This question is from textbook
: If f(x)=x(x-1)(x-4)^2, use interval notation to give all values of x where f(x)>0.
Thanks! This question is from textbook
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If f(x)=x(x-1)(x-4)^2, use interval notation to give all values of x where f(x)>0.
(X-4)^2 IS ALWAYS POSITIVE.
SO IF X(X-1)IS +VE THEN F(X) IS +VE.
THIS WILL HAPPEN IF BOTH X AND X-1 ARE +VE...OR...IF BOTH ARE -VE.
THAT IS X>0 AND X>1...THAT IS WHEN X>1
OR....X<0 AND X-1<0....THAT IS WHEN X<0
HENCE X IS (-INFINITY,0) AND (1,INFINITY)
