Find the amplitude, if it exists, and the period of: y = tan(1/4ˇq).
There is no "amplitude" for tangent, cotangent, secant, or cosecant
functions. Only sines and cosines have amplitudes.
But all have periods.
1. The period of y = Aˇsin(Bx), y = Aˇcos(Bx), y = Aˇsec(Bx),
and y = Aˇcsc(Bx) is |2p/B|.
2. The period of y = Aˇtan(Bx) and y = Aˇcot(Bx), is |p/B|.
So the period of y = tan(1/4ˇq) is |p/(1/4)| = p÷(1/4) = p×(4/1) = 4p
