Question 442665: Find the coordinates of the vertex of the graph of the equation. If necessary, complete the square on x to write the equation in the form y=a(x-h)^2 + k. Do not graph the equation
y= (x-5)^2 + 3
I know the choices are
(-5,-3)
(3,-5)
(-3,5)
(3,5)
(5,3)
can someone pleas show me how to work this problem?
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In the problem, they tell you that vertex form is y+=+a%28x-h%29%5E2+%2B+k
They give you y=+%28x-5%29%5E2+%2B+3+
So, we know that h =5, and k = 3.
The vertex is the point (h,k).
So the point is (5,3).
Hope this helped!
