You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%28w-1%2F4%29%5E2=%28w-1%2F4%29%28w-1%2F4%29
Use FOIL (first, outers, inners, lasts) to add the products of the expressions in the brackets.
If you had to multiply (a+b) by (c+d), using FOIL you would get:
%28a%2Bb%29%28c%2Bd%29=ab%2Bad%2Bbc%2Bcd
So:
%28w-1%2F4%29%28w-1%2F4%29=w%5E2-w%2F4-w%2F4%2B1%2F16
%28w-1%2F4%29%28w-1%2F4%29=w%5E2-2%28w%2F4%29%2B1%2F16
%28w-1%2F4%29%28w-1%2F4%29=w%5E2-2w%2F2%2B1%2F16
I hope this helps
P.S. I am trying to start up my own homework help website. I would be extremely grateful if you would e-mail me some feedback on the help you received to adam.chapman@student.manchester.ac.uk
