You can put this solution on YOUR website!
start with the numerator

grouping ___ (t^3 - t^2) + (t - 1)

factoring ___ t^2(t - 1) + 1(t - 1)

rearranging ___ (t^2 + 1)(t-1)

now you can "cancel" (divide) the t-1 terms in the numerator and denominator, leaving ___ t^2 + 1
