Question 442391: Please help with this type of question that does not give the total number of children. . .
A Teacher gives 2 tests to her class. 30% of the class passed both tests and 45% of the class passed the first test. What percent of those who passed the first test also passed the second tes Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! this is pretty tough to interpret.
The way I read it is that 45% of the class passed
the 1st test, and some of that 45% also passed the 2nd test.
The 30% that passed both tests is included within the 45% that
passed the 1st test.
So the problem is asking "30 is what percent of 45?"
66.67% of those who passed 1st test also passed 2nd test
Some one else might read this differently.
I'd get another opinion, too.
