Yeah, tough to write out.
Anyway, you can combine 4th roots. I will call a 4th root qtrt for (quartic root)
If we take 48 down to its prime decomposition we get:
qtrt(2*2*2*2*3)
Notice the 4 2's. Then this is the same thing as qtrt(2^4 * 3).
So we can factor out a qtrt(2^4), which is just 2.
Thus we have qtrt%2848%29++=+2+qtrt%283%29
So we have 2 qtrt(3)*3*qtrt(3).
We combine into 2*3 qrt(3 *3).
And this simplifies to 6qtrt%289%29
