Question 442130: A cereal maker is currently packaging cereal in cylindrical boxes with a 6" diameter and a height of 10". The cereal maker is considering changing to rectangular boxes. Two boxes need to have the same height to fit on store shelf and they need to have same volume? I believe the volume of the cylinder is 282.6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
v=pi*r^2*h
v=pi*3^2*10
v=pi*90
v=282.74
You used 3.14 for pi? right? and got 282.6
You do realize don't you that you didn't ask a question?
so the height is still 10
282.74/10=length *width
28.274=length*width
we can't do any more than guess at lengths and widths
7 *4 is close
7.023*4.024 is about 28.26
