9x%5E4+-+24x%5E3+%2B+16x%5E2+=+0
divide both sides by x%5E2
9x%5E2+-+24x+%2B+16+=+0
Now you have a quadratic that can be solved using x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+
Note that because you have divided everything by x%5E2 every solution you obtain will have an opposite of that solution attatched to it.
For example, if you obtained x=1 and x=2 from the quadratic, solutions x=-1 and x=-2 would also exist these are called "congugate" roots. All the solutions would be x=-2,-1,1,2.
