If the probability an event will occur is 1/2 determine
a) the probability that the event will fail to occur:: 1/2
--------------------------------------------------
b) the odds against the event occurring.
odds against = P(not occur)/P(occur) = (1/2)/(1/2) = 1:1
-------------------------------------------------------------
c) the odds in favor of the event occurring.
odds in favor = P(occur)/P(not occur) = (1/2)/(1/2) = 1:1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/2 means there are two possibilities and it will occur every other one like a coin toss
so it won't occur is also 1/2
1-1/2=1/2
1/2
1/2
