Question 44018: inverse diviation, joint and combined,
The current I in an electrical conductor varies inversely as the resistance R of the conductor. If the current is 1/2 ampere when the resistance is 240 omhs, what is the current when the resistance is 540 omhs?
please help set this up

You can put this solution on YOUR website! current I in an electrical conductor varies inversely as the resistance R of the conductor. If the current is 1/2 ampere when the resistance is 240 omhs, what is the current when the resistance is 540 omhs?
I=k/R
Need to find "k".
(1/2)=k/240
k=120
So the equation for this problem is I=240/R
Now, what is the current when the resistance is 540?
I=240/540
I=4/9 amp.
