You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2a^3-52a^2b+96ab^2
"a" is present in each of the terms, so factorise:
a(2a^2-52ab+96b^2)
no inside the brackets you have a quadratic polynomial. Use a+=+%28-B+%2B-+sqrt%28+B%5E2-4%2AA%2AC+%29%29%2F%282%2AA%29+
where
A=2
B=-52b
C=96b^2
this gives:
a+=+%2852b+%2B-+sqrt%28+2704b%5E2-768b%5E2+%29%29%2F4+
a+=+%2852b+%2B-+sqrt%28+1936b%5E2+%29%29%2F4+
a+=+%2852b+%2B-+44b%29%2F4+
b=2 or b=24
I hope this helps.
P.S. I am trying to start up my own homework help website. I would be extremely grateful if you would send me your feedback on my help to adam.chapman@student.manchester.ac.uk
