| Question 439672: The houses in Wanda's neighborhood have similar wooden fences, so Wanda decided to start a business painting her neighbors' fences. She painted the fence around her house; the job took her 3 hours to complete on her own. Painting a fence requires exactly 2 cans of paint that sell for $6.85 each; Wanda already owns brushes and rollers, so paint is her only expense.
Wanda knocked on her neighbors' doors and asked if they would like her to paint their fences. 6 neighbors hired Wanda. How much money will Wanda have to spend on paint in order to paint all 6 neighbors' fences?
Thank you again :) I understand I must make it a proportion im just a bit confused as to how I should set it up the information.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The houses in Wanda's neighborhood have similar wooden fences, so Wanda decided to start a business painting her neighbors' fences.
 ----
Paint for each fence will cost 2(6.85) = 13.70
 ----
Her expense for the 6 fences will be 6(13.70) = $82.20
