let x = number 1
let y = number 2
x+y=46....................(1)
x-y=22....................(2)
from (1) x=46-y.............(3)
substitue (3) into (2)
(46-y)-y=22
46-2y=22
-2y=22-46
-2y=-24
2y=24
y=24/2
y=12
sub y=12 into (3)
x=46-12
x=34
