Question 437355: Hi, I need help solving radical equations. I tried one and got nowhere and did a second one and came up to the same thing.
Here is the first on that I didn't understand.
(x^(3/2)-3x^(1/2)=0
And here is the second one.
(x^(1/2)-2x^(1/4)+1=0
Any help would be great. One more question. Do you know of a link to a page where I could read more on these type of radical equations that deal with fractions? Thanks for all your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To solve the equation:x%5E%283%2F2%29-3%2Ax%5E%281%2F2%29=0, add on both sides 3x%5E%281%2F2%29
and after square both sides the result will be:%28x%5E%283%2F2%29%29%5E2=%283x%5E%281%2F2%29%29%5E2=>
=> x%5E3=9x => x%5E3-9x=0 => x%28x%5E2-9%29=0, solving the last equation
we find the roots:
x=0 and (x-3)(x+3)=0 => x=-3 and x=3.
Answer: the solution of equation is the set: {-3, 0, 3}.
