length of a rectangle is 8 meters more than the width

Let x and (x+8m)represent the width and length respectively

Perimeter = 2(x+8m) + 2x = 156m

                4x = 140m

                 x = 35m, the width.  the length is 43m  (35m+m8m)



CHECKING our Answer***

  2*43m + 2*35m = 86m + 70m = 156m
