Question 437070: Find an equation of the line containing the point (-2,-5) and parallel to the line 4x-5y=13.
and
Find an equation of the line containing the point (-2,-5) and perpendicular to the line 4x-5y=13.
For the first question I got y=(4/5)x-17/5 is this right and how do you do the other one.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first one is right

perpendicular lines have slopes which are negative reciprocals of each other
___ so you can just swap the x and y coefficients and change one of the signs

5x + 4y = ? ___ to find ? , just plug in the necessary point

5(-2) + 4(-5) = -30

5x + 4y = -30
